Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division is an internationally renowned training institute for aspiring professional dancers and dance teachers. As such, it is essential that students who represent our Academy at the audition are an appropriate level.

FVAD students eligible to audition should be pre-approved by Mr. Carney.

Registration for the 2022-23 Audition Tour opens on SEPTEMBER 15, 2022!

IN-PERSON AUDITIONS:

Walk-ups are welcome at in-person auditions, however, students are strongly encouraged to pre-register.
The cost to participate in an audition class is $50 CAD. Payment must be made by credit card at the time of registration.
Auditioning students will be asked to bring a photo of themselves to the audition: facing in 2nd position tendu, with arms in second.

Students ready to represent the Academy at such an audition will receive notice from the office in advance.

Students who have not been contacted but would like to audition for the RWB Professional Division must first contact the office for approval in order to audition as a student of FVAD.

Founded in 1970 by celebrated teacher and former RWB Company Principal Dancer David Moroni, C.M., the RWB School Professional Division offers classical ballet training based on the Russian system and supported with a full program of study in complementary dance forms. This results in versatile dancers and dance teachers with the ability to find meaningful employment in their profession. The rest is history, as witnessed by the long list of Ballet Academic, Aspirant and Teacher Training Program alumni who have gone on to perform, choreograph and teach dance in Canada and around the world.

FVAD Scholarship 2015 Application

Selected students of Fraser Valley Academy of Dance will be auditioning in Vancouver in Canada’s National Ballet School Audition 2022 tour.

The Professional Ballet Program Canada’s National Ballet School provides full-time ballet and academic training to students from Grade 6 to 12 as well as a Post-Secondary Program for academic graduates. The ballet training represents the highest standard of professional ballet training, while academics follow Ontario’s Ministry of Education curriculum.

It is essential that students who represent our Academy at the audition are an appropriate level.

FVAD students eligible to audition must be pre-approved by Mr. Carney.

Ages 10-13 : Sunday, October 23
Ages 14+ : Saturday, October 22

Students who have not been contacted but would like to audition for the NBS-ENB Professional Ballet Program must first contact the office for approval in order to audition as a student of FVAD.

Canada’s National Ballet School is the only ballet school in North America to offer ballet training, academics and residence facilities all on one campus. Students graduating from the School receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. There are approximately 150 students in the Professional Ballet Program (PBP) , including two FVAD alumnae currently training in the PBP of the six FVAD students who have been invited to the Professional Ballet Program in past years.

Students in the Professional Ballet Program come from across Canada and around the world, and approximately two-thirds of the students live on site at the School’s residence. Canada’s National Ballet School prides itself on the fact that talent is the sole criterion for entry at NBS. Upon acceptance into the Professional Ballet Program all students, regardless of financial means, are subsidized through fundraising efforts.
