Aerie Insurance sponsors FVAD student
March 15, 2024Fraser Valley Academy of Dance student Aliana is one step closer to achieving her dream thanks to a very generous donation from Aerie Insurance Solutions (Abbotsford) to help fund her attendance at an elite, internationally-renowned ballet training program this summer.

At only 12 years old, Aliana was one of the very few students, of the thousand who audition each year, to be invited to Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) in Toronto to attend their full-time professional training program for 2023-24. Fewer than 50 of 1000 obtain this invitation during their summer intensive training program, the second-level audition for the full-time program.

As the only school in North America to offer Olympic-calibre dance training, academic instruction and residential care all on one campus, the NBS Professional Ballet-Academic Program is home to students in grades 6 to 12 from across Canada and around the world.
Due to her young age, Aliana chose to return to Mission and continue training with FVAD’s Artistic Director Mr. Carney, with an offer from NBS to return for a second summer intensive in 2024.
Aliana is now fundraising her way to her second summer of intensive training at Canada’s National Ballet School. The cost of the four-week training program with in-residence boarding, as well air travel, amounts to $7000. With this generous support from Aerie Insurance Solutions, Aliana is now closer to achieving her goal.
