Summer training at ballet company schools

September 1, 2024

Fraser Valley Academy of Dance students received invitations to full-time professional programs again this year, after summer training at ballet company schools.  The invitations came after successfully auditioning for summer intensives at Alberta Ballet School, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and Canada’s National Ballet School.

From those who chose to attend this summer, Jaime A was invited to the full-time training at ABS, and Myla L was invited full-time to RWBS.  FVAD alumna Emma S was invited to a second year in the professional program at RWBS.  All students have chosen to return to Mission to continue training with Mr. Carney and his staff.   Welcome back to all! 🙂

Jaime was invited to the Alberta Ballet School professional program 2024-25.

Myla was invited to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School professional program 2024-25.

Emma attended the RWBS professional program 2023-24, and was invited again for 2024-25.

This summer, students had the chance to meet with FVAD alumnae Brooke and Anna.  Brooke is a dancer with Royal Winnipeg Ballet who met with Myla L while at her summer training.  Anna has graduated from Canada’s National Ballet School, completed their Company Life program, and has now accepted a contract with Orlando Ballet II.  She came back for class with Mr. Carney in Mission before moving to Orlando.

FVAD student Myla meets FVAD alumna Brooke and other dancers of Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

FVAD alumna Anna takes class with Mr Carney, before joining Orlando Ballet II.
