Classes postponed to April 13

March 17, 2020

BC Schools have been ordered to close indefinitely from today, as BC declares a Public Health Emergency.

As a result of the new guidelines and restrictions, we are postponing our classes for 4 weeks until Monday, April 13

We hope that this time is not needed, and that we can re-open sooner, but we have to be prepared for the longer term.

What happens now?

  • All family accounts are now on hold until we can safely re-open.
  • We will not process any payments to your credit cards or bank accounts until that time.
  • We are focussed on ensuring that our staff receive the income support required to sustain them through the next weeks with no revenue.
  • We will send a separate email to our host families regarding our international students in their care.

What happens next?

  • We plan to upload Observation Class Week in-studio videos (password-protected) so that our students can practice as possible at home.
  • We plan to reschedule Peter Pan JR at the Clarke Theatre.  We have no intention of canceling, so please keep rehearsing!
  • We will consider private and semi-private class options for students who are interested, if it’s possible with the new finger-tip-to-finger-tip distance restrictions for businesses.
  • We will consider what classes, if any, could be live-streamed from our studios with only a teacher present.

What can you do?

Continue to listen to our governments’ sources for the latest updates…

Help each other to…

  • Stay Informed
  • Remain Calm
  • Be Prepared
  • Do Not Panic
  • Be Kind
  • Breathe

I am so sorry to have to make this announcement, but coordinated social-distancing will reduce the spread of the virus, as well as the burden on our medical services.  We must all participate in this to protect the elderly and the most vulnerable in our society.  This takes priority over everything else.

We will get through this as a community, together.

Kind regards,

Mrs. Carolyne Carney
