FVAD organizes Assessment Weeks twice each year: once in the Fall Term and once in the Winter Term. Teachers formally assess students based on defined skill sets for each class.
Where the class follows the syllabus of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) or the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), the graded syllabus for that class is included in the skill set. However, in general, the ballet classes will be assessed on more advanced skill sets than simply the RAD syllabus.
Report cards are emailed (or mailed if no email is on account) to all students by the start of the next term.
Winter Term assessments determine placement for the following school year.
